The European Geosciences Union (EGU) General Assembly 2023 will take place on 23-28 April in Vienna, Austria and online.
The EGU General Assembly brings together scientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience.
SeasFire will participate in EGU23 with a presentation on Earth System Deep Learning towards a Global Digital Twin of Wildfires by Ioannis Prapas of the National Observatory of Athens.

EGU23 will host a session dedicated to the emerging concept of the Digital Twin Earth (DTE). A DTE is an interactive and dynamic digital replica of our planet, which integrates observations, simulations from physical models, and advanced AI-based analysis. It is designed to emulate the complex ecosystem of the Earth, enabling us to gauge how our planet might respond to changes in both its present climate state and future climate projections.
Think of your natural hazard challenge in the Digital Twin of the Earth and let’s discuss together in Vienna about the future directions for digital twins in anticipating climate extremes.
